We were delighted to be able to take part in what was a fantastic day out in the beautiful surroundings of Royal Hillsborough Castle. Even the weather couldn’t dampen spirits with a large crowd turning out to enjoy local produce and, most importantly, all things honey!
Chef and baking extraordinaire Evelyn McBurney took to the Food NI stage to demonstrate a delicious spiced honey cake recipe which went down a treat with the crowd – our samples didn’t hang around too long!
This recipe is really simple, yet perfect for any occasion as a treat, spot of afternoon tea or a tasty dessert.
A big thank you to all the organisers at the Royal Historic Palaces and Food NI for all the effort that went into this wonderful event. We can’t wait for the Honey Fair to return next year!
