After a successful event last year, The Hillsborough Honey Fair returned for it’s second year. Based in the stunning setting of Hillsborough Castle, the event celebrates local beekeepers, food producers and all things honey. All exhibitors and demonstrations are encouraged to use local honey in recipes and produce.
We were delighted to make a return to the Hillsborough Honey Fair this year as part of our Andrews Flour 300 Year Anniversary celebrations. Evelyn McBurney demonstrated a quick and easy honey cupcake recipe, based on the honey and orange drizzle cake from 2021. This year we were gifted a jar of Hillsborough Castles’ own honey to bake with, which was simply delicious.
There was quite the buzz (literally!) when the jars of honey & orange drizzle were opened in the kitchen. That didn’t stop Evelyn from baking up a feast of honey cake and cupcakes, or the team from getting the samples out to the crowds before the bees got there first!
Thank you to all the wonderful organisers at Historic Royal Palaces for another bee-autiful honey filled day!
