What a fantastic weekend we had at the Tesco Taste Festival where Evelyn McBurney baked up a storm and entertained the crowds on the Friday and Saturday. Evelyn focused on baking both sweet and savoury treats that could be rustled up in a matter of moments. The wheaten bread with pumpkin seeds went down a treat along with the apple and almond cake which was truly divine.
Evelyn also featured on the main stage at the Tesco event to an enthusiastic crowd who were fascinated by how quick and easy it is to serve up good honest food. Some of Evelyn’s favourite recipes feature on our recipes section on the website, and they are as simple as they are delicious!
On the Sunday we had Jane and Sara Allen from Jane’s Kitchen in Broughshane baking an array of delicious scones. These scones did not hang around, no sooner were they out of the oven the crowds descended and were floored by the flavour combinations. Some of the favourites of the day included chocolate orange scones, olive and sea salt wheaten scones and the good old plain scone with apple jelly!
We can’t wait for next year where we hope to have as much success as this year!
